Acupuncture for Shoulder Pain
Muscle and Joint pain

Shoulder pain is probably the third most common condition I treat with acupuncture. The pain often comes from trapezius, the big muscle between your shoulder and neck, GB21 is a good point for this muscle. The other two common culprits for pain at the shoulder are rotator muscles called supraspinatus and infraspinatus. They correspond to points LI16 and SI11.

This picture shows treatment of shoulder and deltoid pain, in this case an 81 year old patient who had been using crutches after a hip replacement and had pain in the right deltoid, supraspinatus and trapezius muscles.
